We are proud to announce that Louise Miller Cohen and 11 other notable South Carolina citizens were honored by being featured in the 2018 South Carolina African American History Calendar.

I have one question, my mother started a story, but never finished, about a trip to Hilton Head Island as a young girl. This was before 1920. In her story she refers to a boat ride to the island and her adventures aboard that boat. Her notes are very fragmented; I guess

Mr. Wiggins, If you would like to give your mom's notes to the Gullah Museum, I would like to have them. We might be able to connect her story to life on Hilton head Island before the bridge.
